Error in VB6 with win 7

By: rekha singh | 08 Apr 2010 1:53 pm

 Hi All,

I am running VB6 application in Win7.Whenever I try to debug on a particular code(FileSystemObject) I get error 429:Active X component cannot create object.
I get this error when my application is trying to upload a file in database. Once I get this error the file is not saved in the database and the operation in aborted.
I have added scrrun.dll file as a ref to my project.

Any help will be great for me

Thanks,

 Win7 32bit or 64bit?

I've run into lots of issues running 32bit VB6 apps on 64 bit Windows Vista and Windows7, but very few running on 32bit as long as app was run as administrator.

to first run as administrator for vb6 by going to properties of vb.exe coz windows 7 has got restrictions to administrator also so you may need to specify runas administrator. .
